Here comes a fresh Musictrade serving of tasty experimental electronic music from an international lineup of artists: KraftiM from Netherlands, Frags and Cvijaxo from Sweden, Ristikiehtova from Finland, Unknown Forces from Scotland and Softspace from England. Cvijaxo and Ristikiehtova make their Musictrade debut on this compilation with full length albums soon to follow from both.

The truth is in here...
Of the six artists involved in this Miscued Rat, I already have some listening experience with four of them (collaborations with two), and on top of that two great new additions to my journey through sound. KraftiM starts the ball rolling with a lively and diverse track, quite a journey in itself. A very interesting starter that manages to incorporate a different element of what I would usually expect from KraftiM, and a comfortable familiarity as well. Frags is new to me, and what a wonderful neighbour to have! The track is a nice ambient piece.
The third track by Cvijaxo, has that subtle essence that Kopparberg has over other ciders (there's something special in that Swedish water), and this is the most attractive rendering of an oil platform I have ever encountered. Excellent sound manipulation, elegaic though not overly mournful. This is followed by Ristikiehtova, with the magnificent Hangar. One can almost smell the fumes, with some very successful atmospheric creativity.
Ending up closer to my current home, Unknown Forces' track is wonderfully active and busy. A hotpot of urban field sounds gliding along with some fine sound control. Another new artist for me to keep an ear out for, without doubt. The initial updraft, drifts beautifully with some pretty elegant moves. The surrounding sounds open up with a more assertive sonic scenery.
Last, but by no means least, another favourite artist of mine. Softspace continues his consistency in creative output, and this is proof of the pudding. Flowing ambience is combined skilfully with a dynamic rush, tapping into the elemental nature of subconsciousness and gratefully received, even more so thoroughly enjoyed. Just the ticket! Music sometimes manages to elevate the spirit in a profound way, and this album is a fine example of a selection of fantastic artistry, that has done just that for me. Give it a listen, and I hope you find the same. Enjoy!-)
